William “Bill” Arthur Redmond Jr.The death of Bill Redmond Jr., husband of Maureen (O’Donnell) occurred at his residence on Saturday, June 20 at the age of 60. Born in Chatham NB, Bill was the son of the late Bill Sr. & Anne (Daley) Redmond of Chatham. He worked as a custodian with Anglophone North School District, and had recently retired from 24 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica. He loved softball and played from a young age with the Nelson Belvederes. After years as a player, Bill went on to coach softball and share his talent with others. As a father, Bill enjoyed every moment with his two daughters and wife, never missing a special occasion. He was an avid golfer and had a true love for the game, something he planned to pursue more of in his retirement. He was a husband, a father, a brother, and a friend. He was loved by all who knew him.Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Kelsey (Nick LaRoche) of North Battleford, Saskatchewan & Jenna (Tyson McKay) of Miramichi, two sisters, Nora Ann Roberts (Tom MacMillan) & Valerie Fowler (Paul Doucette) and one brother Danny Redmond, all of Miramichi, sister-in-laws Darlene O’Donnell & Elaine (John) Sullivan, brother-in-laws Greg O’Donnell & Danny McDonnell, mother & father-in-law, Buddy & Norma O’Donnell and many aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Marie McDonnell, brother-in-law Wayne Roberts, and sister-in-law Betty Ann Redmond.

Mrs. Sarah Mae (Sullivan) Allison, wife of Daniel Allison, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, June 19th, 2015 at the age of 75.Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (DeWolfe) Sullivan. She was retired from UPM as Executive Administrator and a member of St. Samuels Roman Catholic Church.She is survived by her husband, Daniel; daughters, Donna Allison (Eddy) of Blackville, Nancy Allison of Whitney and Nicole MacCallum (Matthew) of Miramichi; son Christopher (Barbara) of Miramichi; sisters Patricia Meehan (Manus) of Miramichi and Susan Hare (Reg) of Miramichi; 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Lindsay-Rae, Joshua, Taylor, Allison, Sarah, Madelyn and James.Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Ted Sullivan.At the request of the family there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private family funeral service will be held Wednesday at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Father Maurice Swift officiating. Burial will follow in St. Samuels Cemetery.    1953-2015

Miramichi –   Richard Leo Losier, widower of the late Edith (LeBouthillier) Losier, of Wellington St., Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the age of 61.

Born in Chatham, on November 17, 1953, he was the son of the late May (LeBreton) and the late Leo Losier.  He was a long serving employee of Sobeys Stores Ltd.; a former member of the Chatham Lions Club; and attended St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi.

He is survived by his mother, May Losier, of Miramichi; two daughters, Janet Losier (Matt English), of Miramichi and Judy Losier (Ray McGrath), of Napan; one brother, Stephen Losier (Judy), of Miramichi; five grandchildren, Damian, Jaelyn, Cameron, Dylan, Allie; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceased by his wife, Edith, in 2010; his father, Leo Losier; his brother, George Losier.

Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., with visiting on Sunday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church on Monday, June 29, 2015, at 11 am, conducted by Father Dan Bastarache.  Interment will be in St. Andrews R.C. Cemetery, Miramichi, at a later date.

Miramichi – Reginald Harrison Graham, husband of Juanita Graham, of Auburnville Road, Bay du Vin, passed away at his residence on Monday afternoon, June 22, 2015, at the age of 81.

Born in Auburnville, on August 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Thomas and Versilla (McLenaghan) Graham.  He was a truck driver, taxi driver and laborer.  He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin.

He is survived by his wife, the former Juanita Hurlburt; four daughters, Darlene Williston (Steve), of Miramichi Bay, Brenda Pelly (Baxter), of Thunder Bay, Ont., Bonnie Dye (Robert), of Marathon, Ont., Kim Curtis (Etienne), of Bay du Vin; three sons, Robert (Susan), of Albert Co., Danny, of Penobsquis, Troy, of Saint John; one sister, Audrey MacAllister (Harvey), of Halifax, N.S.;  one brother, Peter Graham (Heather), of Salisbury; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; in addition to a large extended family.  He was predeceased by his first wife, the former June Carson; one son, Randy Graham; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one brother, Oakley Graham.

By his request there will be no visitation at the funeral home.  A memorial service will be held in Bay du Vin, at a future time and date to be announced.

Miramichi-   Wayne Russell, husband of Margie (Curtis) Russell, of Point Au Carr Road, Napan, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the age of 88.

Born in Napan Bay on July 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Francis and Era (Taylor) Russell.  He was a  self-employed businessman, fishermen and established Russell's Poultry Farm in 1958.  He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving in Canada with the North Shore Regiment.

He is survived by four daughters, Sharon Russell, of Saint John, Beth Russell, of Miramichi, Wanda Russell (Ricky), of Point Au Carr and Patti Somers (Justin), of Miramichi; two sons, Bruce Russell (Nancy), of Grand Prairie, AB and Alan Russell (Lesley), of Point Au Carr; one sister, Phyllis MacNaughton, of Vancouver, BC ; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews who always enjoyed visiting the Russell's Poultry Farm.   He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2004; one son, Stephen Russell; two sisters, Ruth Monteith and Doris MacFadyen.

Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St, Miramichi on Friday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Funeral service will be held from The Point Church, Miramichi, on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 2 pm.   Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery.

The death of Nora Emma Matchett of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Halcomb, NB occurred at her residence on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the age of 80. Born in Sunny Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Laura Matchett. Nora was a member of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Sunny Corner and she enjoyed crosswords, coloring and detailed sewing and since making her home at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home she has enjoyed many outings with her fellow residents.Nora was the last surviving member of her immediate family but is survived by several nieces and nephews.Besides by her parents, Nora is predeceased by: four sisters: Doreen Hamilton, Mable Matchett, Mary Dobson and Beatrice Ingram and one brother: Walter. A public funeral service will be held from Meadows Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11 AM with Pastor Vince Somers officiating. Marion Katherine (MacKenzie) Holt, wife of the late David Holt, of Miramichi, passed away at her residence, Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the age of 77.Marion was the daughter of the late Earl and Nan (Wood) MacKenzie of Douglastown.Marion attended St Michael’s school in Chatham and worked for 32 years as a telephone operator at NBTel. She was also a member of the Miramichi Weslyan Church.Marion is survived by three children; Fred Nowlan (Mary), Tim Nowlan (Shawn) both of Miramichi, and Sandra Guth (Ben) of Holland.Marion was also the sister of Carney Depres, Kathleen Flanagan, Helen McArdle, Gordon MacKenzie and Isabel Burns.She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren; Dylan Ginnish and Taylor Ginnish of Holland, Andrew Nowlan and Kelsey Nowlan of Miramichi, and Brooke Nowlan of Miramichi.Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Donna Ross, Ralph MacKenzie, Marjorie Walsh, Nancy MacKenzie, and Andrew MacKenzie.The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Friday, June 26, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Born in Sillikers, NB, Helene was the daughter of the later Walter and Catherine (Hyland) Burns. Helene went to Taunton, MA for 60 years where she finish her education, began her career as an office manager for Crown Tanks Company and raised her family. Visiting was at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St, Miramichi on Friday.  Funeral service was held from The Point Church, Miramichi, on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Kevin J. Matthews.  Music for the service was provided by Dan Gillis and Trent Mutch with special music, “10,000 Reasons”, provided by Joey Dignam and Cathy Parks.  The congregational hymns were “Solid Rock”, How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”.  The scriptures were offered by Justin Somers and Brianna Russell”.  A Tribute to Wayne was given by Rheal Daigle and Gary MacFadyen and the Pastoral Message was presented by Rev Kevin Matthews.

Miramichi-   Wayne Kenneth Russell, husband of the late Margaret G. (Curtis) Russell, of Point Au Carr Road, Napan, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the age of 88.

Born in Napan Bay on July 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Francis and Era (Taylor) Russell.  He was a  self employed businessman, fisherman and established Russell’s poultry farm in 1958.  He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving in Canada with the North Shore Regiment.

He is survived by four daughters, Sharon Russell, of Saint John, Beth Russell, of Miramichi, Wanda Russell (Ricky), of Point Au Carr and Patti Somers (Justin), of Miramichi; two sons, Bruce Russell (Nancy), of Grand Prairie, AB and Alan Russell (Lesley), of Point Au Carr; one sister, Phyllis MacNaughton, of Vancouver, B.C.; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews, who always enjoyed visiting Russell’s Poultry Farm.   He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2004; one son, Stephen Russell in 1978; two sisters, Ruth Monteith and Doris MacFadyen.

Visiting was at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St, Miramichi on Friday.  Funeral service was held from The Point Church, Miramichi, on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Kevin J. Matthews.  Music for the service was provided by Dan Gillis and Trent Mutch with special music, “10,000 Reasons”, provided by Joey Dignam and Cathy Parks.  The congregational hymns were “Solid Rock”, How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”.  The scriptures were offered by Justin Somers and Brianna Russell”.  A Tribute to Wayne was given by Rheal Daigle and Gary MacFadyen and the Pastoral Message was presented by Rev Kevin Matthews.

Jane Flynn Dempsey 1920-2015Jane Flynn Dempsey, born April 4, 1920 in St. Margaret’s, died March 5, 2015 in Boulder, Colorado in her 94th year. She was the beloved mother of Dr. Lawrence Dempsey, Janet Axelrod, Donna Kerrigan, Susan Nelson, Ronald Dempsey, Marie McNeely, and Peter Dempsey. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her parents James and Lucy Flynn, husband Patrick Eugene Dempsey, sister Annie Bowie, brothers Carl and Thomas Flynn, brother in law Holden Bowie, and sister in law Mona and Geraldine Flynn. After graduating from nursing school at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Chatham, N.B., Jane married and gave her time to her faith , family, friends and neighbors. She also managed to play contract bridge at the level of a Sliver Life Master. She laughed easily and lived life fully. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Fraser at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday July 16, 2015 at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church followed by burial in St. Margaret’s Cemetery. Spencer Nursing Home and formerly of Sillikers, NB, occurred at her residence on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the age of 95. Born in Sillikers, NB, Sadie was the daughter of the late David and Maggie (MacDonald) Matchett.Sadie enjoyment in life was her family and her hobbies that were cooking, knitting, sewing and making quilts for her family. Sadie was a homemaker, life member of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Sunny Corner, NB. Sadie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and will be sadly missed by her sons: Henry (Linda) and Emery (Anne Marie) and five grandchildren: Susan (Don), Karen (Tim), Roderick (Lorella), Colin (Amanda) and Angela (Gary); ten great grandchildren: Jonathan, Jessica, Amanda, Ethan MacKayla, MacKenzie, Emma, Abigail, Braydon and Bailey also several nieces and nephews.Sadie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
